Amy Lowell Apartments is an 11-story masonry building built in 1975 that consists of 152 occupied units, 120 of which are income restricted affordable units for seniors. DREAM and our consultants completed a building survey regarding the property components, systems, and elements that are easily visible and readily accessible for the purposes of identifying significant physical and systems condition and potential replacement timelines. System counts were taken to adequately estimate costs to remedy physical deficiencies. Survey procedures note building code violations of items, systems, or inherent design features that are readily apparent upon visual-only inspection.
DREAM also provided recommendations for compliance with the City of Bostonās new āBuilding Energy Reporting and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO),ā which sets requirements for large buildings to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. The goal of BERDO is to reduce emissions gradually to net zero by 2050.
