DREAM collaborated on this feasibility study for the renovation of 233 Massachusetts Avenue in Central Square. Built in 1911, the 20,300 sf reinforced concrete frame structure has student housing on the upper levels and retail on the ground floor.
The goal of this study was to provide cost effective solutions for both base building and tenant improvements. Our team provided a thorough building survey that included assessing the existing facade and storefronts, reviewing ADA compliance and life safety systems, reviewing options for vertical transportation, upgrading the electrical system and the feasibility of installation of HVAC for the entire building.
